Hello, worldbuilders! What's been happening at Worldbuilding Agency this week?

No essay or interview

Um, yeah—bit of an absence at the middle of the week, wasn't there? Sorry about that.

There's an interview in the pipe, but it's awaiting approval from the interviewee. As such, the plan was to write a fresh essay for Wednesday... but that was before a whole day was eaten up by learning about and attempting to solve a technical-legal problem with This Very Website, and in particular with the subscriptions system.

To be very brief: it ain't issuing invoices with the appropriate VAT applied, and that's really not a good look for someone running a limited company in Sweden. This country takes bookkeeping extremely seriously.

A fix may be in the offing, though, which is nice? I may also be getting in touch with those paid subscribers among you regarding your payments so far; I think there's a way to fix it without having to re-run the transactions, but it might generate some surprising emails, so I'll aim to warn you about that in advance.

On which note, thanks to all of my paid subscribers, even those of them who are not my mother.

(I have to say that, mum! It's good for business.)

Weeknotes

There were weeknotes this week, though!

And they are mostly about the process of starting to do weeknotes and only later coming to understand what they're actually for:

Week 31 / 2024
This week: weeknotes go meta!

So there'll be a rejigged format there next week, if all goes according to plan. Exciting, eh?
